Abstract

|
The four cases of pregnancy complicated by prolactin producing pituitary tumors are presented here. All patients had definitive radiological evidences of a pituitary tumor and no evidence of acromegaly or Cushing's disease.
They had been managed with dopamine agonist(Bromocriptine(r)). Among the one of them has developed complications of the tumor during pregnancy. The complication is bitemporal visual field defect in the second trimester which was treated by
re-adminstration of dopamine agonist.
Al patients were treated with drugs in order to achieve pregnancy. They had taken dopamine agonist to suppress elevated prolactin levels.
This paper shows the investigation, treatment, and management in pregnancy and labor of four women with pituitary secreting adenoma.
